GRIT
Mobile support for veterans transitioning back to civilian life
GRIT is a mobile app experience backed by leading edge technology designed to help Service members, National Guard members, Reservists, Veterans, Caregivers gain personal insights into their emotional well-being, provide resources to improve their individual situations, connect with friends and family, and serve as a tool to build resiliency and overall well-being.
GRIT, which stands for Getting Results in Transition, was developed in response to the growing concern about the rate of suicide among Veterans especially during the transition from activity duty to civilian life. Social determinants of health, including employment, housing, social connectedness, and finance all play a large role in the mental and physical health of Veterans and provide opportunities to prevent suicide. Employment and the task of finding a job once leaving the service is often cited as the number one concern of active duty service members and of Veterans during the transition period back to civilian life.
