While hypertension is easily treatable, 90% of the 200 million hypertensive adults in India are not on regular treatment.Simple helps busy clinicians to manage hypertensive patients by tracking their blood pressure and medications and ensuring, through regular check-ups, that patients stay on treatment.In India, a typical nurse sees around a hundred patients a day, spending 4–5 minutes each, handling paperwork. Simple helps them to find and record patients in less than half a minute and to use their saved up time to call and remind patients who have missed their appointments.Simple doesn’t do as much as most EMRs but it fits in the places where other EMRs fail.As part of the India Hypertension Control Initiative (IHCI), Simple is being used in over 400 hospitals and clinics to manage over 175K patients. Simple will be rolled out to most Indian states, Ethiopia, and Bangladesh in 2020. At this time next year, we anticipate having more than a million patients managed in Simple.
