Co•School
Character and leadership skills are vital for students to aim a happy life
We spend more than 3 years in the classroom as teachers and realized students struggled not only because of a lack of academic skills but mainly because of a lack of character skills that can be developed. In 2012 Colombia was ranked 65th of 65 countries in problem solving (PISA), and for many years private schools have outperformed public schools. An inequality addressable trough experiences outside the classroom.(Heckman 2012) Co•School strengthens these skills through innovative programs in education: leadership programs, urban summer camps, and training for teachers, using experiential learning and methodologies like Design Thinking and Teaching as Leadership to empower kids and create character development opportunities that they don´t usually have in their classrooms . Our vision is that all the students finish high school with the skills needed to be part of a new generation of change makers, kids able to make informed decisions and be aware of their role in the world.
