An open source protocol for people and smart agents to autonomously create and interact with digital, self-sovereign identities. Whether you’re an individual, organization, business, public administration, or IoT device, Jolocom’s open source protocol makes it easy to produce, share, and consume unique identity information. By using a shared universal language to underwrite our framework for identity information exchange, standardized identity transactions are finally possible. Unlike typical federated identities that resist usage outside particular applications, services, or blockchain infrastructures, decentralized identities generated using Jolocom’s protocol are designed to operate in any virtual environment. We rigorously implement open standards developed by the W3C and the DIF for decentralized identifiers (DIDs) and verifiable credentials to ensure our identities remain highly interoperable over time.
