Aesthetic prostheses from digital manufacturing technologies. Case study: Microtia.
Pro-Scan is a project that seeks to develop cosmetic prosthetics for people who, due to some pathology, accident or illness, do not have any of their limbs, providing them a low-cost aesthetic solution, through the exploration of digital manufacturing technologies present in the national context (Colombia) that are efficient in terms of material costs and production times. 1 of every 10,000 birth registers the pathology of Microtia (Malformation of the ear) I have this pathology and because of this; the personal interest by relate digital technologies to this health topic. The development of these prostheses is linked to a methodology already established which seeks to associate all processes to digital topics in order to obtain greater accuracy in the final result of the prosthesis, such as 3d scanner, 3d printing, digital sculpture and FX makeup.
