You can have a systems understanding that is first rate, but if you don’t care about the impacts those insights allow, then you’ve got to deal with the consequences. For a long time, companies around the world have been using science and systems thinking in their self-interest. Members of the World Datanomic Forum and its Sub-Forums aim to improve systems in different sectors around the world by working on Preliminary System Designs (or so called 'Prototype Systems') wherein methods such as Data Analytics and Life Cycle Analysis (or LCA) are used in an effort to improve processes, dynamics and relationships in the social, political and financial realm. We use Data Analytics in combination with Scientific Questioning and Industrial Ecology, a science that offers a metric for understanding the impacts of the life cycle of almost any object from beginning to end in terms of how they impact the global systems that support life on our planet—the carbon cycle being the best-known example.
