Squint-Scope
Helping doctors examine cross-eyed children.
Every year 3,6 million children is born cross-eyed. It is important to tread the syndrome early on in order to avoid the brain adapting permanently causing blidness and other symptoms.
The Squint-Scope is designed as a awry periscope that trick the child's eye to look straight ahead which is needed for the examination of the eye. The Squint-Scope shows the healthy eye a cartoon in a awry angle that trick the child to focus this eye to the side. The other eye will end up looking straight and give the doctor time to examine the eye.
The device is 3D printet and consist of seven parts - all in soft and colorfull shapes that instantly captures the interest of the child. The Squint-Scope is being tested at Mayo Clinic, USA and Glostrup Hospital, Denmark.
