A pioneering design, interacting with the social fabric and changing the mindset of the citizens towards recycling. Result of an intensive research and development, the system is designed in a social engagement perspective, inspiring the society to (re)act positively towards a common problem. After analyzing the majority of the existing underground recycling system models in the global market, we realized none of them responded fully to the actual needs. None was really user friendly, ergonomic or with construction design criteria. Most importantly, none was sufficiently engaging to make a strong case for recycling. Therefore, our goal was to create a technically innovative object (from the composite material, to the inner mechanical system), that could also promote a mindset shift from the community towards recycling. Today, we see tourists taking selfies with a garbage bin (really!) or children pulling their parents hand to put the garbage in the right “ball”. Success!
