Miraclefeet™
Treating clubfoot one step at a time.
A new, comfortable & affordable solution to clubfoot bracing in low-income countries. Current clubfoot braces are either low-cost but uncomfortable or comfortable but expensive. Research shows that a more comfortable & practical brace could increase use of brace, therefore preventing feet from relapsing into clubfoot position. Treating clubfoot is easy, but lack of a practical brace prevents 200,000 children per year globally from treatment. Miraclefeet worked with corporate, university & in-country clinical partners. The brace is EASY TO USE: Clips on & off, enabling parents to put on more quickly; COST EFFECTIVE: Injection molded, produced at a marginal cost per brace; COMFORTABLE: Shoes made of soft canvas, the bar is lightweight; ATTRACTIVE: Colorful & looks like a toy; ADAPTABLE: 2 sizes of bars & 6 sizes of shoes for growing feet; DURABLE: Solid polycarbonate brace bars underwent failure testing, sturdy enough to be reused; SCALABLE; AWARD-WINNING: 2015 TechAwards Young Laureate.
