African agriculture is being pressed to align itself with a Western model, which excludes most farmers, who have no access to irrigation and selected seeds. The design revolves around an eco-compatible strategy for environmental readjustment, utilizing waste from annual pruning and dead leaves left over from harvesting. Drawing on inspiration from local crafts and equipment, symbols and images, agricultural manuals present several design concepts for rural communities, so farmers can improve their soil for cultivation and avoid exhausting it.
