📆 Event: Educating solution-makers
or how we spark change through Design Thinking

Design Thinking is the key methodology for creating change in the world. A better future is dependent on today’s efforts to shape change-making world citizens who are creative and aware of global and local contexts. But how do we teach the next generation these necessary skills? What does it take to inspire people to implement this mindset in their daily lives and create sustainable solutions?

Since 2018, The Index Project and Siemens Stiftung have partnered to bring Design Thinking to STEM teaching at a global scale – from South Africa to Chile, Mexico to Peru. We believe in the power of distributing Design Thinking to all corners of the world through our education programmes to nurture creative skills and innovation competencies among young learners. The incredible stories of the prestigious Index Award alumni showcase how people from all over the world are using Design Thinking to solve real-world problems and advance the cause of humanity.

In this webinar, Martín Bascopé, Assistant Professor at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, will share concrete examples of how education based on Design Thinking is implemented in STEM classes in Chile and how this mindset can be supported. Mattia Bernini, Design Lead at Precious Plastic and One Army, will give us a glimpse of real-life design-based solutions to plastic waste.

Through visual stories and engaging conversation, the panellists share their perspectives on how they utilised Design Thinking in their lives, and how others can do the same. Look no further for an in-depth discovery of the power, challenges, highlights and impact of Design Thinking as part of an education agenda – you don’t want to miss this presentation!
