Amrutdhara
Technology and systems for access to affordable, quality-assured drinking water.
Consumers need access to affordable, clean drinking water. These needs are either unmet or met by:
•Expensive packaged drinking water
•Unsafe tap water
•Purifying unsafe water with high capital costs
The only way to deliver water affordably is unpackaged drinking water. Amrutdhara addresses 3 major concerns:
•Quality assurance through technology & design to measure and communicate
•Access through a viable product & distribution
•Affordable pricing through elimination of packaging & minimising logistics
Amrutdhara will bridge this gap by creating a modular system of water dispensing stations. These have 3 salient features:
•To enable easy access we will have a dense network of these stations across the urban fabric
•Cloud based real time monitoring will help with quality assurance & efficient maintenance
•Communication of quality through implicit & explicit means
Milestones so far:
•Functional prototype for a vending machine
•Pilot in Pondicherry & Mahabalipuram
