ZipWire
ZipWire is a product design with modular design features and quick disconnect cables.
How does it work?
Use quick-release structure to separate the Type-C male connector of the charging end from the wire, and use a clamp-type terminal structure to connect the transmission line. When the wire needs to be replaced, the wire can be inserted manually and pulled to simultaneously separate the internal metal wire and the external plastic part of the wire.
Why is it needed?
Electronic devices are the most valuable items among all recyclable resources. According to statistics, in 2020, Taiwan recycled about 120,000 tons of waste electronics, with over 100,000 tons of reusable materials such as copper, iron, aluminum, and plastic, generating a value of approximately TWD 1.3 billion. The metal in electric wires is a high-value material for recycling, but the outer coating of most wires is usually made of PVC or rubber. Therefore, almost all wires must be delivered to recycling companies through resource recovery vehicles for professional dismantling and sorting.
How does it improve life?
Zipwire's structural design allows for quick self-disassembly and recycling, improving the recycling process, reducing logistics and waste generation, and meeting the requirements of the circular economy, redefining the disassembly and manufacturing processes of wire. This improves the wire recycling rate and increases the willingness of manufacturers to recycle, creating a circular economy.
