Newton-Rider N1 Mobility helmet
A semi-soft and foldable bicycle helmet for modern commuters embracing sustainable transportation.
How does it work?
The N1 helmet transcends the confines of traditional designs and materials. Crafted with use of Non-Newtonian materials, the helmet boasts a semi-soft and flexible composition, offering a departure from the unyielding rigidity of the all too well-known hard and stiff polystyrene helmets.
With this innovative design, the N1 helmet is not only comfortable to wear, but also adapts effortlessly to any head shape. The Non-Newtonian materials employed also impart superior impact absorbency, and given its 40% reduction in thickness it lends a sleek and sophisticated aesthetic.
Designed to meet the demands of modern, multi-modal urban transportation, the N1 helmet is foldable, easily fitting into a laptop shoulder bag for convenient storage between commutes or during work hours. This versatility caters to the discerning, young consumers who have embraced sustainable urban transportation and their efforts to help reduce the carbon footprint in the ongoing fight against the climate-crisis.
Why is it needed?
Sustainable transportation is rapidly gaining traction, with young commuters at the forefront of this movement. The energy crisis have brought to light the need for change, with the bicycle emerging as the preferred mode of choice. Cities are seeking to reduce car traffic, to make urban environments more liveable and eco-friendly, reallocating road space to bicycle lanes.
The popularity of e-bikes has added a new dimension to the mix, ranging from traditional bikes, to e-bikes, cargo bikes, and e-scooters, each traveling at varying speeds and accelerations. However, with this increased use of bikes, bike-to-bike accidents, have become a growing concern over the past two years.
To ensure a future of urban transportation that is both multimodal and sustainable, personal safety must be solved. Reinventing the bicycle helmet is crucial in meeting the needs and expectations of modern commuters.
The notion of personal safety must not be a matter of choice, but a deeply held desire.
How does it improve life?
The design of a bicycle helmet has a profound effect on its users and impacts their perception and social interactions. The design of the N1 helmet enhances its usability and overall appeal, leading to a more positive adoption and experience of helmet use.
The sleek and fashionable design, aims to encourage a wider adoption of helmet use. Many riders are reluctant to wear traditional polystyrene helmets due to their perceived unattractiveness, bulkiness, or lack of fashion appeal. We are addressing these concerns with the stylish and fashionable design of the N1, appealing to a wider demographic of riders.
Moreover, a stylish helmet can enhance the overall experience of wearing it, leading to increased use. When riders feel good about their appearance wearing the N1, they are more likely to consistently wear it, which can ultimately increase the safety of bicycle rides. In essence, the design of the N1 serves to elevate not only the wearer's appearance but also their overall safety.
