T-SOBRA
Residue recollection, compost production, and public spaces restoration service.
How does it work?
T-SOBRA is a service in which the clients pay a monthly fee for the organization to collect every week or fortnight their organic residues. Once they're collected, we transform them into high-quality compost that will then be used to restore the local green spaces or for wholesale and individual sales.
Why is it needed?
The current garbage management system in Mexico City has a lot of gaps. The proposal so far has been to collect and separate the different types of waste; however, the infrastructure and logistics remain outdated so the residues end up together at the end of the cycle and the disposal techniques have negative consequences on the air and soil quality and public spaces conditions.
How does it improve life?
Starting from internal philosophy and structure, we seek to create an organization guided by inclusivity and empathy so we collaborate with the current local garbage collectors for them to become our collecting force.
We encourage a community that feels responsible and involved in the quality of its surroundings. By joining this service, the members will be contributing directly to the restoration of local green spaces, where they will see reflected the benefit of separating and transforming the garbage into compost. Having a green space close by improves the air quality, provides heat relief and recreational areas for the neighbors to gather.
