With My Eyes Project
Project to change "hard to see" to "visible" for 250 million low-vision people* worldwide
How does it work?
With the camera-type device "RETISSA SUPER CAPTURE" that uses laser retinal projection technology, QD Laser carried out a project in which low-vision people tried to take photos with their eyes.
Why is it needed?
The Retissa Super Capture is a camera that projects images seen through the viewfinder directly on the retina, which means it can also be used by people with low vision. The idea was inspired by interviews with people with low vision, which produced a surprising insight: that such people do not necessarily seek to see clearly all the time and wish they could see clearly only when they want to remember the occasion. The product incorporates QD Laser’s Visirium technology, which uses low-level lasers to project images directly onto the retina.
How does it improve life?
In supporting people with low vision, it was realized that they do not necessarily see their situation as unfavourable and are leading their lives positively. Therefore, based on providing positive value to people's lives rather than reducing negative value to zero, QD Laser sets our sights on realizing a world where people with low vision can take photographs with their own eyes.
