Dress-coding
Using innovative technologies to create garments that improve the quality of life of disabled people
How does it work?
The Dress-coding volunteer team is making a three-part documentary series of custom-made, made-to-measure clothes for people with special needs. They use innovative technologies to create garments that improve the quality of life for people with disabilities and address their unique challenges.
Why is it needed?
For most people with disabilities, ready-to-wear clothing is not suitable and often makes everyday life more difficult, as it is difficult for them to put on or do certain activities in it. Custom made pieces that are funcinal and fashionable can make a big improvement in the quality of their life as well as make the wearer more confident.
How does it improve life?
It raises awareness about the dressing difficulties of people with special needs and to initiate a discourse on this issue through storytelling, thus contributing to the social awareness of the mainstream society.
