Biobot Analytics
Population health analytics powered by sewage
How does it work?
Wastewater contains valuable information about the health of communities. Biobot Analytics collects it, analyses it and tell you how to leverage it to make your city better. Wastewater analysis can detect a broad range of biological and chemical markers, including SARS-CoV-2 and its variants, the influenza virus, high risk substances (such as opioids), and more.
Why is it needed?
Wastewater-based epidemiology is the science of analysing sewage to better understand the public health impact of certain pathogens and chemical compounds within a population. Wastewater contains valuable information on human health because viruses, bacteria, and chemical metabolites are excreted in urine and stool. Overall, wastewater monitoring is equitable, anonymised, cost-effective, flexible, timely and comprehensive.
How does it improve life?
Inspired by the potential of wastewater epidemiology, Biobot is the first company in the world to commercialise data from sewage. After winning multiple entrepreneurship competitions at MIT, including a place in the DeltaV and DesignX accelerators, Biobot completed the Y Combinator accelerator in San Francisco. Headquartered in the Boston area, we aim to extend our wastewater epidemiology platform across all five continents.
