REVOLVE AIR
A space-saving wheelchair that fits in cabin luggage.
How does it work?
Revolve air uses the revolve mechanism that compacts down the wheesl into one small oblong. The seat then slots ontop of the two folded wheels which results in a small rectangle which is smaller than a regular small suitcase.
Why is it needed?
Airlines damage thousands of wheelchairs a year. With revolve air, those with wheelchairs can feel completely at ease knowing that they have their wheelchair with them the whole time. They also have access to their wheelchair throughout their whole journeys and do not need assistance through the airport or to transfer onto the plane.
How does it improve life?
One of the main inaccessible aspects of life for those who use wheelchairs is travel (trains, planes, buses etc) and the requirement for people to check their wheelchairs into the hold creates a lot of anxiety as well as loss of dignity. So, this is an answer to the problem of losing and damaging wheelchairs as well as ensuring peoples' dignity. There is no need to ask for assistance from airline workers, or to have to arrive early at airports.
