How does it work?
Tempty is a protein-rich food alternative based on fungal protein, better known as mycelium. It's ideal for salads, poke bowls, noodles, and much more and high in protein, Vitamin D, fibres and of course vegan.
Why is it needed?
Tempty Foods use mycelium as the main ingredient, because it is highly nutritious. It is rich in complete protein, dietary fiber, vitamins, and minerals. On top of that it is more sustainable than e.g. soy in terms of the use of land and water, as well as CO2 emissions.
How does it improve life?
According to a preliminary LCA done on the product*, 1 kg of TEMPTY is expected to produce ±0,8 kg of CO2 per kg. On top of that, the only food waste from the food production is a carrot peel.
