Their algorithms are sensitive enough to correctly identify 99% of vehicles, as well as buses, ambulances, bikers and pedestrians, and detecting a range of parameters about these objects' behaviours. Using advanced machine learning techniques and mountains of traffic data they’ve accumulated, they’re able to accurately predict traffic patterns - hours in advance. They can tell exactly where and when traffic will start to overflow. By dynamically altering traffic light programming, ITC can adjust the traffic flow through intersections to mitigate congestion in advance - thus preventing jams and gridlocks and ensuring safe and fast travel for all road users.

Congestion accounts for 25% of car greenhouse gas emissions. More than 40% of traffic accidents occur in intersections.
