The Supersonic
A light-weight scooter made of aluminium strips
How does it work?
The Supersonic scooter is made from precisely bent aluminium strips and therefore very few materials. It's intended to be an easily transportable and sustainable alternative to cars and public transport. The Supersonic itself is also easily recyclable.
Why is it needed?
According to Our World in Data, transport accounts for around one-fifth of global CO? emissions. And according to the ICCT, PM2.5 (particles are formed as a result of burning fuel) and ozone concentrations from transportation emissions resulted in 7.8 million years of life lost and approximately $1 trillion in health damages globally in 2015.
How does it improve life?
The Supersonic was a finalist in the Make Me! design competition at Poland's Lódz Design Festival in 2021.
