We have founded Home.Earth to use real estate as a powertool to address society's biggest challenges
How does it work?
Our promise - to build homes that are positive for people and the planet - is based on three pillars: Affordable housing, liveable communities and a balanced planet. Specifically, we build healthy, quality homes that are affordable for all segments of society and provide access to below-market rents for a share of tenants. Spaces and operational solutions are designed to foster inclusive and resilient communities - which are at the heart of all great urban environments. We actively involve users in the design phase to ensure our design meets their needs and aspirations (co-creation). We are also an environmentally friendly company, leveraging best practices in circular economy, CO2 minimisation and sequestration, and urban nature.
Why is it needed?
Cities are the intersection of our greatest challenges: Nowhere is inequality more present than in the way we live. Cost overload ratios are high across the EU, particularly affecting poor households. As a result, too many people are forced to compromise on health and quality of life. This has a significant negative impact on physical, as well as mental health. Moreover, our planet cannot sustain the way we build. At this point, the building sector is already the world's largest emitter of CO2 and is very resource intensive. To tackle these problems, we have founded Home.Earth as we believe that real estate can be changed to serve the whole.
How does it improve life?
Dedicated to creating inclusive and lovable homes and communities that focus on sustainability and quality of life, we apply a user-centered and holistic design approach. This starts with understanding the needs of our future tenants and then working with them to design quality homes for people from all walks of life, evaluating every design decision to achieve a design that is positive for people and the environment. We will bring everything we know about good urban design into every project. For us, this is characterized by active, inclusive and engaging spaces for a variety of users to create inclusive and vibrant communities.
