Biodesign in schools
Brings together the knowledge of natural science and creative areas. It also develops empathy, teamwork, and critical thinking.
Biodesign in schools is a disruptive model that wants to address XXI century competencies, bringing together the knowledge of natural science and creative areas. These are fundamental competencies for students to face world challenges. Besides strengthening science-related skills and competencies, developing empathy, teamwork, and critical thinking to make ethically responsible decisions regarding their life, the environment, and the world. The project wants to inspire teachers and obtain the “installed capacity” training to replicate the methodology in these or other related projects. We also looked to guarantee the quality of projects that students develop, since one of the allies is the Biodesign Challenge contest and the project has an important component in assessment and reflection on the Sustainable Development Goals and the cultural dynamics in their context.
