EnergyLab Nordhavn
A scalable solution of a smart and integrated green energy system
From April 2015 until December 2019, 12 partners teamed-up for Denmark's largest and most ambitious smart energy project. The demonstration took place in Copenhagen’s Nordhavn one of the largest development districts in Europe. The aim was to holistically integrate the energy sectors of power, heat, and transportation. The project brought people together from industry, consultancy, authorities, utilities, metropolitan development and university in order to re-think energy infrastructure. To date, the project is called a Front-runner Of The Front-runners celebrating the 4.5 y successful experiment for integrating a flexible and intelligent system that is able to save up to 10% of the total energy cost at 50% renewable electricity production. The uniqueness of the project also lies in using various design thinking and visualization tools that helped facilitate and communicate both internally and externally about this hyper-complex multi-stakeholder innovation.
