Airship travel to the North Pole — a pioneering step towards sustainable tourism and mobility.
It’s a pursuit to foster a green future of aviation and support sustainable tourism by reviving a low-carbon travel technology - airships. Lighter-than-air technology can supply humanity with ultra-efficient means of mobility, and operate in areas without infrastructure and civilization, reaching destinations with spectacular nature allowing to explore extraordinary wildlife at an altitude of 300m to 900m. The very first destination to the North Pole was chosen due to possible complete ice loss by the year 2035. Airship travel would serve as new means of highlighting the issue without leaving a footprint. While still in development, OceanSky Cruises is already selling tickets for a first take-off from Norway in 2023.
