An elegant flat-pack chair, made from 100% recycled plastic
In 2019, 54 million tons of e-waste such as computers and tablets were produced worldwide, and the number is expected to increase to 74 million tons by 2030. Currently, plastic disposal and sustainability are emerging social issues, and the design field is announcing experiments and alternative results considering these two keywords. It is expected that this will gradually affect changes in our perception of life. Based on this, London designer Tom Robinson unveiled the Evolve Chair, an e-waste designed to use 100% recycled plastic, further evolving its functionality and aesthetics with the aim of giving it a natural look rather than an artificial feel. In particular, the company collaborated with The Good Plastics Company, which develops sustainable materials based in the Netherlands to create recycled plastic materials, and unlike conventional plastic recycling, e-waste uses only one identical plastic.
