MISTRAL (Fan 1.0). It is the 16th object produced through the SUPERLOCAL system. It was designed and made using local materials and collaborating with local craftsmen in Arles (FR). SUPERLOCAL is a design/production initiative founded in 2015 by Andrea de Chirico. With the goal of providing home accessories with a 0 miles production, each object is designed depending of the location of the production, in this case Arles. It is composed by an alluminum main part, a laser cut grid and a concrete iron base. The rotating blades are cut with plasma in alluminum. The two knobs to set the inclination and the handle are 3D printed with a filament in PLA and Algae from the region. The motor comes from a local second hand shop. The Arles based iteration of the SUPERLOCAL project was made possible thanks to Point Virgule Collective and Permis de Faire.
