Solar Cow
System in Africa to end child labour by rewarding parents with solar energy from schools
Children in Africa are deprived of childhood and education due to child labor. Solar Cow and Power Milk is a system that rewards parents with free access to electricity: higly valuable in Africa, in exchange for sending their children to school. YOLK installed solar charging stations, at school of Pokot, Kenya and provided students customed power banks that can be only charged at school. Students come to school in the morning and charge their Power Milk through Solar Cow. Students can study while they are waiting for Power Milk to be charged. After class, they go home with a fully charged power source that can serve the entire household.
