Revalued
A series of stool made from an old desk that the recreates value in invaluable material
By designing new furniture that is made to last, the project aims to create something constant and reliable that enhances the connection between furniture and user as a contrast to our fast-paced lifestyle and throw-away mentality.
The series of stools has a storytelling, functional, and sculptural value that shows different ways of reusing the unvalued oak desk. By showcasing previously hidden details, they appear as decorations on the new furniture. The user is able to explore these decorations, but also use the stools functionally to enhance the connection between the two.
Each stool is unique, but together they resemble a family that has both similarities and differences between them.
