HealthCat
HealthCat helps nurses access materials more quickly and gives more time for actual health care
Robots are considered to help mitigating the challenges impose by the demographic change, yet they are still rare in the health-care domain. The HealthCAT robot forms a flexible, moving storage, which drives to the nurse instead of the nurse having to walk to a storage room. When the robot runs out of material, it drives to a centralized storage to be restocked, so the nurses will have more time for care-giving tasks. The robot design has rounded corners that eases the cleaning of the surfaces. It is not too tall when driving around in the hallways of the hospital so it is easy to have an overview of activities on the hallway. When the content of the cabinet is to be accesses, it rises up to achieve ergonomic access. The robot can be controlled manually by gripping the handle and pressing the “Manual Mode” button. That is placed on the inside of the handle.
