Jerky box
A machine to dry beef by the heat of the Sun
My goal is to provide a quality product, specifically for the so-called urban nomad layer of society giving them a positive charge and bringing in a habit that suits their lifestyle perfectly. These people return home only to sleep, live an alternative and quite busy, semi-natural life. Trying to find the connection between the meaning of the word ‘nomad’ and the average person of the fast-paced 21st century, the strongest seemed to be my love for beef jerky. We can thank an Inca tribe for making it possible to buy beef jerky at almost every shop. They dried meat using the heat of the sun so as to conserve it for times of starvation. My box works by the same tenet. The black painting absorbs the heat of the sun that comes through the plastic panels and with the help of the panel of salt the sliced meat hanging from the shashlik skewer dries out. Once the pieces have dried out, you just have to pull the skewers out from the back of the box and the meat slices fall on the salt panel.
