Fluid
A concrete 3d-printed, organic-shape bench for a public space
An organic shaped bench for public space, made by a 3D concrete printer.
The bench's design process begins with observation to human postures. Examining how the body inclination can change while people are seated in public spaces for a long time, how the body moves through the time. After creating a typology of basic body inclinations and combining all the lines, an interesting design aroused. This special organic form reminds us of the continuous flow and movement of the water; the creation of small wave's curves. That's how the project is named "fluid". This fluidity was also the reason why the project connects to the city of Berlin where everything moves; where everything flows smoothly.
The aim of the project is to give people the opportunity to interact with this organic form and feel this concrete texture is their whole body.
This project was a Master Thesis proposal in Architectural Design during 2018-2019 at AUTH University of Thessaloniki, Greece.
