Neuralink
Developing ultra-high bandwidth brain-machine interfaces to connect humans and computers
Elon Musk suggested that the brain implants developed by his startup Neuralink will be able to play music directly in the user’s brain. When computer scientist Austin Howard asked Musk on Twitter if we could one day listen to music, streaming directly into the brain, through such an interface with no headphone needed. The company’s co-founder answered “yes” without offering more details about the technology. The entrepreneur also confirmed to another follower that the chips should be able to stimulate, when necessary, the release of hormones, such as oxytocin and serotonin. Apart from this, there’s also a research paper by Elon Musk himself detailing how it is going to happen.
