AMP Robotics Recycling Bots
Robots being used to aid the recycling crisis
Low-value recycled goods are not that easy to sort. Plenty of companies in the U.S. discard a lot of material due to difficulties and costs, and some choose to incinerate the trash outright. AMP Robotics is lending a hand to such recycling companies by employing robots. These machines learn over time and can work with better efficiency, safety and cost compared to their human equivalents, with increased accuracy on top. The robots categorize trash based on several parameters: “It begins to learn things like logos, different shapes, and textures.” This has also opened doors to new materials being sorted, as it is now possible to sort more sub-categories of trash, such as paper cups.
