Wini
Wini makes it easier to keep living a normal life, when having an illness affecting hand mobility.
Wini is a new assistive device for people with reduced hand mobility (fx. people with arthritis, sclerosis and nervedamages). It makes it possible to enlarge the handle of smaller and narrow objects such as cutlery, paint- and toothbrushes. All you need to do is put the object you want to hold on to, into the handle and press the button. Press again and you can take out the object again. Wini is developed by Manigrip, but in close cooperation with arthritis sufferes and the danish association of arthritis. The team started out interviewing two women with arthritis, who told about their life and their wishes for their assistive devices. They were sick of feeling stigmatized when ever they had to use their assistive devices, and they asked for a versatile product, that does not limit them, but rather encourage to greater freedom. Furthermore they ask for a aesthetics, that is not medical. Wini is named after the woman who inspired Manigrip to make a dignifying assistive device.
