Careables – Co-creating Open Health + Care
Careables are personalised health + care products, created with digital fabrication.
Careables is an open and inclusive approach to healthcare for citizens based on digital fabrication, distributed manufacturing and collaborative making. The EU-funded project brings makers + designers, healthcare professionals and users together to co-create and share inspiring health + care solutions.
Careables are projects like:
- lighting for wheelchairs
- custom tricycles for children with neurological disorders
- 3D-printed prostheses
- caps to seal used stoma bags
- pain sensoring squeeze-balls
The project has two parts:
Careables currently launches an online platform for open health+care projects so that everybody can find, design, make and share open tools and DIY solutions for healthcare and well-being.
Careables runs and supports co-creation events in Makerspaces and Fablabs in Europe and worldwide.
