VEDUVAN- BAMBOO STOOL
The design sensitizes the importance of sustainability, it encourages individuals to plant bamboo.
Veduvan (bamboo plantation in Sanskrit) is a thought-provoking Furniture Designed to sensitize people for using the resources judiciously.
This furniture is an attempt to upcycle the waste produced during the processing of Bamboo.
Bamboo-The Green Gold is considered to be one of the most sustainable materials known to us, even though during its processing a lot of material goes into waste(fibers, peel, and dust). To utilize this as a raw material, a stool has been designed out of the bamboo fibers collected from the workshop floor.
The Idea behind the design was to create a product which will sensitize the people and promote bamboo plantation. If the stool is inverted, it appears like a bamboo plantation.
Materials and Processes: The primary material used is bamboo fibers, bound together in polyester resin and bamboo stems for the legs. The seat has been cast and the seating area has been sanded to make a polished surface comfortable and ergonomic.
