PROJECT MARÉ
Anti-mosquito buoys from plastic waste
Maré is a project that seeks to minimize the damage caused by mosquitoes in areas of Latin America, where they pose a serious endemic problem. Maré consists of a system of buoys that are installed in the water that surrounds the stilt houses. These buoys are filled with an attractant for mosquitoes, which end up getting trapped inside. In addition, the buoys are manufactured by 3D printing with plastic waste collected locally.
