Neurescue safeREBOA
The safeREBOA is a new type of medical device to vastly improve the treatment of cardiac arrest.
Today sudden cardiac arrest results in 7 - 9 million deaths per year. Current solutions today (CPR & AEDs) do not reach high enough blood flows to resuscitate most patients. Neither do they buy enough time for more advanced treatments of the patient. Existing balloon catheters (for REBOA) require large and immobile imaging equipment such as fluoroscopy. The safeREBOA is the world’s first intelligent aortic occlusion system with feedback guidance that can be used bed-side or out-of-hospital. This enables for the emergency redistribution of blood flow to the two most sensitive organs; the heart and brain. The Neurescue controller allows physicians to safely and correctly perform a resuscitative endovascular balloon occlusion of the aorta (REBOA). This increases the likelihood of the patient responding to resuscitation treatments. It also increases cerebral blood blow, extending the treatment window, thereby bridging patients to more advanced treatments such as ECMO.
