SolWa is a solar still that can purify the majority of polluted waters thanks to solar radiation. Through the process of changing phase of water from liquid state to vapour state and the following condensation, Solwa is able to separate pollutants from pure water. The whole process is powered by solar energy and does not require any chemical products, nor membrane-based treatments: this considerably reduces system operating costs and maintenance. Solwa is a completely free-standing energy system and is suitable for critical situations. The simple scalability of the system allows to suit small and medium isolated communities needs. Solwa Technology is able to treat hypersaline solutions, sea water, brackish or polluted waters by chemical or biological agents. Drinking water supply is a human right: it is estimated that every year more than 3.4 million directly or indirectly die from water related diseases. In particular at present 783 million are still without access of drinking water.
