The transformation towards inclusive, sustainable cities with minimum carbon footprints remains one of the greatest challenges of our time. Urban forests play a critical role in this, but current replanting efforts are too slow. Wherever people have been given a voice in city planning, there has been a clear call for more greenery. Wild Streets pushes the notion of what is possible in the world of city planning and citizens-involvement in shaping tomorrow's cities; using augmented reality, and innovative location-specific data from IOs and experts on flora and its impacts on human health and the environment, the app empowers people to "green" their surroundings in real-time with realistic 3D models of plants and trees. The app will feature an integrated sharing/voting system, enabling feedback via social media. Demographic characteristics of such data will be shared with planners and architects, facilitating the co-creation of cities in the image of the people that inhabits them.
