Nige-Tore
Personal Tsunami Evacuation Drill App
Nige-Tore, a smartphone app for supporting tsunami evacuation drill was developed to explore how we can improve tsunami evacuation behavior which has been a major social issue since the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Disaster in 2011. Nige-Tore served as an effective interface tool which successfully visualized dynamic interaction between evacuation behavior, and tsunami movement. Nige-Tore shows that estimated tsunami inundation area is approaching behind a drill participant who is moving actually in a drill, along with a trajectory of the participant with some different color, depending on how emergent who was at each point of time. The results of social implementation of Nige-Tore showed that the app was more powerful than conventional devices and methods.
