SURGE
Surge is a work platform for immigrants.
Economic crises in Latin American countries are challenging their citizens to move abroad in search of better income opportunities. In Chile 80% of immigrants are hired as cheap labour, working on non-qualified jobs. The reasons for this include arriving without references, the lack of a professional network and non-validated studies.
On the other hand, employees still use traditional selection methods, asking them for conventional CVs and interviews to better understand the skills of the selected candidate. To address this, Surge was created. It is a platform that uses selection strategies, that measures the candidate’s skills, to find a match between the employer and the employee. As a result, employers are able to visualize the candidates’ skills, optimizing their time and resources. Candidates, on the other hand, have access to a work and social network, which constantly offers them opportunities that suit their interests, allowing them to find better jobs and income.
