ENAPAC - ENERGIA Y AGUAS DEL PACIFICO
World's largest solar powered SWRO desalination plant in Chile.
ENAPAC is an innovative self-sustainable desalination project to be built in the Atacama region in Chile. It consists in a large scale Sea Water Reverse Osmosis Desalination Plant (2,500 liters per second) combined with a Photovoltaic Solar Power Plant (100 Megawatt) and a large Water Reservoir (600,000 cubic meters) for desalinated water to be distributed to multiple users.
The project will be Chile’s and the world’s largest SWRO Desalination Plant powered with Solar Energy that we know of, one that not only will provide a critical resource in one of the driest regions in the world but with a sustainable design, minimising it’s environmental impact in line with the SDGs Goals, specially nº6, and enabling Sustainable Development for the region and the country.
