Marching Towards Waste Age
Illustrations and provocative wordplay to correct human attitude towards waste and promote action.
Graphic design is used in combination with provocative pun and contextual references to create awareness about waste issues on a macro and micro scale. On macro scale, the focus is on larger problem that world is facing due to human habits and attitude. On micro scale, examples of human attitudes at an individual level are identified that are having a ripple effect on the environment. Each illustration with caption carries a message of its own. But when all the illustrations are brought together, they narrate a larger story. This project is guided by the psychology that people are drawn to things that are relevant to them. The acts and attitudes highlighted in the illustrations are highly familiar and relevant to most people in India and rest of the world. The illustrations connect these acts and attitudes to their effects with the help of visuals and provocative word play, which aims to stay in the memory much longer and hence promoting civic consciousness and social responsibility.
