Charity: Water work with local experts and community members to find the best sustainable solution in each place where they work, whether it’s a well, a piped system, a BioSand Filter, or a system for harvesting rainwater. And with every water point, partners coordinate sanitation and hygiene training, and establish a local Water Committee to help keep water flowing for years to come. Beginning in November 2015, it began to install sensors on its water projects to measure the amounts of water being used to allow for greater transparency. The sensors track how communities are using a water source so that local data is more accurate and any issues can be flagged faster. The monitoring system has the added bonus of letting supporters of the organization see what impact their donation has had.
