Naloxone Nasal Atomizer
A prototype that introduces an easier and smarter way to save people from a heroin overdose
The United States has a heroin problem. The growing tide of opioid overdoses, which have quadrupled since 2000, prompted the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to issue national standards for prescribing painkillers. Kits containing naloxone, a drug that reverses the effects of an overdose, are often inaccessible—exceptionally tough to navigate in crisis mode and often too pricey. Frog designed a Nasal Atomizer prototype with intuitive, clearly articulated functionality that can be handled comfortably in the midst of an emergency and sprayed in both nostrils at once—a massive step forward in both ease and speed from the standard one-by-one process.
