FOODSHARING
What to do with a fridge full of food when going for a long vacation? What to do with excess food?
Germany wastes food worthy of 22 billion Euro every year, which equals to 80 kilos of food per person every year. More than half of the food gets wasted when they are still edible. Foodsharing.de, a food-specific freecycling platform in Germany aims to prevent the food waste by letting people share their excess food by simply putting up a notice of what they have and where/when to pick it up.
Just like any other freecycling platform, there is no money involved in this food sharing platform, since the creators behind claim that buying food devalues food by making it a sort of a product.
