Air Huerta
Hydroponic greenhouses under billboards to capture air humidity and produce water for urban farming.
Air Huerta is a Peruvian initiative that installs hydroponic greenhouses under billboards to capture air humidity and produce water for urban farming. When tested, the project proved capable of supplying water to a community of urban dwellers. It can also water plants through a system of drip-irrigated pipes, making it possible to grow thousands of heads of lettuce. Air Huerta was launched in Lima, Peru by UTEC University (Universidad de Ingenieria y Tecnologia) in 2013.
